Just a short piece of proof that Im still alive!!
Yes, I know its been a little while since I last updated and considering Libby asked me if I was dead in her last comment, I feel the need to update!!!
This past week has been insanely busy but lots of fun (minus a few events of the week). For the past five days I have been working at a children’s cartooning camp. In year 11, any of my friends would have told you I wasn’t particularly fond of children but I really enjoyed working with them this week. My I have changed! They are so spontaneous, crazy and give you many moments to laugh!
Telling you about the whole week would probably be rather uninteresting so I’ll write about today, as it was my favourite day. Today was a market/party day so we got paid to go round to stalls and buy things with unlimited paper money. Awesome fun, I was so excited!!! I got into the day even more than the kids, although all I really ended up “buying” (for free) was two gorgeous giraffes (I have a bit of a giraffe collectionJ) and lots of incense. The incense smells fabulous, I can hardly wait to light it but I must wait a while as I don’t actually have any thing to put the incense in while I burn it!
Well aside from the time spent at cartooning days, I haven’t done a great deal … considering the days were really rather long… like on Wednesday I was working from 8 am – 9:30pm with no break! I dug some year 12 art pieces out from under my parents bed and took them down to the St Barts hall as there’s gonna be a little art show on there this weekend to mark the 150th year of St Barts. I am rather embarrassed by the artwork as I feel I could produce such better work now days. They’re for sale but I wouldn’t want to buy a portrait of my dad or me so I doubt they will sell. I guess if they do, well more money to my Cambodia fund as the deadline of October 1st is approaching soon and I have got to do some fundraising or something. I was thinking of maybe have a bake sale at st matts or a garage sale at home? If anyone has any good fundraising ideas, feel free to pass them on as I am very open to suggestions! For those that don’t know what Cambodia fund means, I am planning to go an help out in a Cambodian orphanage this summer with a group of people (none of whom I actually know) as I really feel the need to get out of my comfort zone , extend myself and get a first hand understanding of mission!
I have to go as I have a Census meeting soon and need to get ready for a party later tonight. Sorry about the boringness of this post.. well at least its an update and proof enough for Libby that I am not dead !
Lots of Love,
